Throwback Thursday: Top 10 90s Kids Shows

The amazing thought just came while watching a throwback tv show (one of the greatest, might I say). This post is a tribute to some of the greatest shows of all times. And hey, while we’re at it, let’s make this a regular occurrence.

Gone are the days of laying in bed watching Fox Kids, Kids WB or for those whose parents lived in luxury, cable network shows. Remember when you got up early just to catch those cartoons that only played between 8 am and 10 pm? Or how about the after school shows where you rushed to get your homework done just to sit in front of the box from 3 pm to 5 pm IF and ONLY IF grandma or mom wasn’t watching her stories or Oprah. Yeah, you remember. Well, MU40 universe, here’s a tribute to 10 of the greatest cartoons of our time (the 90s).

10.) Ren and Stimpy

Ok, some of you may be wondering why is that at the bottom of the list. Well, because I didn’t have cable as a kid. Done. Moving on…

9.) Doug

You’re literally singing the theme song aren’t you? In your head or out loud, you know Doug was the show!

8.) Powerpuff Girls

What was better than 3 little girls made of sugar, spice, everything nice, and Chemical X kicking butt and taking names. That blue one though…she wasn’t “all there”.

7.) Looney Toons

This was one of the few shows that really connected the originals to our generation without rewriting the show. “Expect the unexpected!”

6.) Hey Arnold!

Was it just me or did it look like Arnold wore a skirt? The entire show…

5.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Really, it’s on the list because of the song. Heroes in a half shell? Turtle power? You can’t beat that!

4.) Dragonball Z

Because we all know how important those balls were. Goku was the father I never had. *wipes tear away*

3.) Full House + Boy Meets World

These two are combined because they are family shows and don’t really count and kids shows but we certainly watched. While we’re at it, add Family Matters and Fresh Prince to the list.

2.) X-Men

Whether it’s theme song that got you or the full out action-packed series, you know you loved X-Men, as a girl or boy. You were like either Wolverine, Phoenix, Storm or Gambit.

Honorable Mention:

Before we announce the top one, here are some honorable mentions: Recess, Care Bares, My Little Pony, Blossom, Muppet Babies, Goof Troop, Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Darkwing Duck, Pepperanne, Pinky and the Brain, Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, Animaniacs, Hysteria, Batman/Superman series (Kids WB), and Bonkers. Yeah, that’s a long walk down memory lane. Now, here’s number 1:

1.) Power Rangers

Maybe this is a little biased because I was such a fan, but Power Rangers is the one kid’s show to withstand the test of time, and the show doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. But who can forget Kimberly, Zach, Billy, Trini, Jason and Tommy. You remember every weekday at 4:30 pm and Saturday at 11:30 am, it was always the same time: It’s Morphin’ Time!

Did we miss any? Let us know your top kid’s show from the 90s
