Miami Art Week and Art Basel is in full effect and the world renowned art fair will feature both modern and contemporary art, as well as an endless list of the events all packed into one weekend in our beautiful city. With so much going on this weekend, MU40 has curated a special event list that will allow you to experience the destination event. Shhhh, all events listed are actually FREE. Enjoy responsibly.
Brickell City Center will host a multi-sensory experience centered on the meaning “FREE!” This was created by Octavia Yearwood, along with Silent Revolution, Courvoisier and Spinello Projects, the event is centered around a dining room table that carries elements of the past, present and future.

Art Basel has you itching to quench your thirst. Stop by Monkey Mixers food truck. Monkey Shoulder is known for its unique blend of malt whiskey, its food truck is set to travel around Miami until December 15, offering its guest free Mixed Up Monkey cocktails. The truck will hold more that 2,400 gallons of liquid stop by will be parked at Beaker & Gray on December 6 from 4 to 6 p.m., Better Days on December 7 from 5 to 8 p.m., and Gramps on December 8 from 6 to 9 p.m.
With the Perchance app you can find love with enjoy all the great things Art Basel has to offer by mingling with amazing people in Miami to through the app. Perchance is a new app that offers users a second chance at reconnecting with someone they have shared a passing moment with. The app locates other users that were in your immediate vicinity at the same time as you. When two users confirm a missed connection, Perchance gives them the ability to coordinate a time and place to meet. Basel House is a free, open to the public festival dedicated to street art. Inside the big tent, you’ll find more than 40 murals and art installations as well as a vendor village with arts, crafts and all sorts of things for sale. Music will happen, Art will happen, and you can even make your own art or just watch it all unfold. And because it’s Wynwood, there’s also a ramp showcasing skateboarders and BMX bikers, plus a pop-up barber shop for those who feel the need to get a haircut amidst all this distraction. Throw into the mix a slew of food trucks, a beer garden and some secret decoder glasses that will reveal a hidden message on the latest work by Guinness World Record holder for the largest 3D painting, Jason Tetlak, and you’ve got one heck of a House party.

Join us on Sunday December 9th, for the INSPIRED Conference and Mini Concert featuring WALE at the Urban. There will also be a panel discussion about the Business of Entertainment, hosted by entertainment attorney Zamani Thomas. There will be numerous industry specialist like Marketing & Branding Strategist, Asa P. Sealy, @ThatBrandingGuy, Lex Borrero (ROC Nation), Lashawn Thomas (Founder Miami Entertainment Law Group) and Mari Lopez (Producer, Love & Hip Hop Miami), will all share their views on the entertainment industry in the modern age.

This 4-day, free and open-to-the-public Art Basel pop-up is all about the booze, as a steady flow of Miami’s master mixers show off their best works and even share some shaking and stirring secrets with you.

Free and open to the public, during this year’s Festival takes a serious turn with the theme, “This is Not America,”. The completely free event features all kinds of art and performances throughout the entire “This is Not America” addresses America as a concept more than a place, a contested and powerful idea that is greater than the waters and borders that frame it,” says Zoe Lukov, curator of Faena Art. If that sounds deep, it is. But there’s also champagne and priceless people watching.

Beyond Words” is the theme of this year’s mural unveiling, featuring new works by Portugal’s VHILs, Brazil’s KOBRA, Illinois’ Ron English and six other artists. Visit on Tuesday, Dec. 4, and you may spot Obama ‘Hope” poster muralist Shepard Fairey spinning music behind the DJ turntable.

The original art hotel has a bangin’ experience this Art Basel, with an immersive solo show by former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted. In addition, there are all sorts of ‘art experiences’ taking place here, including a mural wall by PIMAX, an urban artist known for denouncing the vices of modern society through his art.
