What To Do This 4th of July Weekend
As a busy young professional with so many things to get done, we know you might have some trouble taking time off and relaxing. Our tip: put the same amount of effort you put into scheduling your work life into scheduling your off time! Plan your festivities ahead of time, so you can consider in advance fun-hindering things such as parking, prices, traffic, and did I say traffic? To help you get in the maximum amount of fun this long weekend, I’ve put together an itinerary for you!
Sunday, JULY 2:
BBQ @ Faena
Head to South Beach from 12-7 p.m. for live music from Sarah Packiam! There will be hotdogs, burgers, beer, and cocktails. Refresh yourself with one of their unlimited drink bar packages!
B Squared Lobster Bake
Seafood is American too! From June 30-July 4, B Square Burgers, Booze, and Chops will feature fresh seafood for $29.95 per person. Don’t worry, there will also be burgers and hotdogs. To make reservations, call (954) 999-5216.
Monday, JULY 3:
We’ve all seen insta pictures of those giant colorful fishbowl drinks on Ocean Drive, complete with decorative lollipops and massive straws. Try out one of Sugar Factory’s new shakes, the Red, White & Boom! Vanilla ice cream, white chocolate ganache, gummy stars, and red sprinkles topped with pinwheel pops, dipped marshmallows, and whipped cream. No need to say more.
Dance through the 4th of July! EK is a concert on Virginia Key that fuses Caribbean music and EDM. Headliners include Walshy Fire and Bunji Garlin, and admission is $55. Just make sure you wake up in time for fireworks the next day!
Tuesday, JULY 4:
Fireworks at the Biltmore Hotel
Want to have a classy yet relaxed viewing? The Biltmore is having a Stars and Stripes BBQ dinner, complete with an open bar and concert by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band. $180 for adults and $50 for children. The concert starts at 7 p.m., and the historic hotel’s famous fireworks show starts at 9 p.m.
Key Biscayne Parade
We’re in Miami – celebrate at the beach! This will be the 57th year of Key Biscayne’s all-day-long, free parade. Think floats, marching bands, and more. The finale fireworks shows starts at 9 p.m.
America’s Birthday Bash
Head to Bayfront Park for the iconic spot to watch fireworks in Miami. Yes, it’ll probably be terribly crowded, but that’s when you get when there’s free games, live music, a KidsZone, a beer garden, and one of the most impressive fireworks displays in South Florida!
Ocean Drive Fireworks
Celebrate in SoBe! The fireworks will be at 9 p.m. between 5th and 15th Streets. Enjoy the fantastic display from the sidewalk lounges or rooftop venues, but be safe. Open alcoholic containers are not allowed!
Remember, this holiday celebrates America’s freedom and independence. Be thankful that you get to work and thrive in this country of endless opportunities. Be safe, Miami!
